Yet another generic numbered character narrative meme.
This meme works best when you choose the characters before reading the questions.

You know the drill by now, choose X number of OC's (Or come up with somebody on the spot.) As with my other meme, Special talents or abilities are more than welcomed.
In this case you're gonna need seven characters . Give some brief description of them.

1. Artemis Deus; Youngest child of Sebastian Deus, and his only daughter.

2. Tony; Artemis' bodyguard and one of the few people outside of her family who really understands her.

3. Hermes Deus; The youngest Deus son and a bit of a family outcast.

4. Nyx Deus; the eldest Deus son (who is resigned to being named after a goddess. - Sebastian just isn't shifting on that one). Definitely the fighter of the family, and loved for, even if he does sometimes forget to switch that instinct off sometimes.

5. Sebastian Dues; head of the Deus family, and CEO of the family company.

6. Elaine Abott; Sebastian's ex-mistress, and Hermes' mother. She spends her days alternating between trying to get Sebastian back, and trying to kill Artemis (who's mother she blames for Sebastian leaving her in the first place)

7. Richard; more commonly known as Rick, he is a bodyguard in training who has a thing for Artemis, and doesn't seem to understand that she doesn't return his affections.

Let's begin, shall we? You can write simple responses, or drawn out paragraphs.

1. Hermes and Elaine get into a bareknuckled brawl. How does the fight go? Who wins? The reasoning for the fight is up to you.

"But Nyx says it doesn't matter who her mother is, or what her mother did. It isn't Artemis' fault that father chose her over you. Nyx even says father left you before he got with her. I don't understand why it's Artemis we're going after," Hermes said, brows knit in confusion.

"Nyx doesn't know what went on back then. He was only a child, and he was brainwashed by that whore that had the tenacity to call herself Sebastian's lover! He should hate her as much as anybody, for stealing Sebastian's love away from his mother, but no! Instead he dotes over her, the precious baby girl, just like Sebastian! We must get rid of her Herms darling. once she is gone, all of Sebastian's ties to that whore will be gone, and he will finally are me back, and give us the attention we deserve!" Elaine's eyes gleamed manically as she ranted. She paced around the room, her mouth a grim line as she plotted and schemed.

"But...if I hurt Artemis, Nyx and dad will be angry with me."

Smack! "You ungrateful whelp! I am the one you should be pleasing. Me! Your mother! The one who birthed you, and gave you all the attention your father and brothers refused you!" Elaine screeched, towering over her son.

"I-I'm sorry mummy," sobbed the boy, holding his cheek where she had slapped him, "it's-it's just that Nyx already calls me spoiled, and he always gets angry when i'm mean to Artemis, and he's scary when he's angry."

"Oh baby, I'm sorry," crooned Elaine, wrapping Hermes up in a tight hug. "I didn't mean to hurt you. See, this is what I mean. Artemis and her mother destroy families, like the one we should have made with your ather. That's why we must be rid of Artemis. With her mother gone, she is all that is stopping us from returning to your father's side, where we should be."

(ok, so not exactly a bare knuckled brawl, but the best I could do with these two - Hermes is devoted to his mother and would even dream of hurting her, so a fight wasn't really possible. A scene from Hermes' childhood, when his mother was still twisting his mind against Artemis.)

2. Sebastian, Nyx and Artemis get together to play a prank on Rick.

Nyx turned the odd device over in his hand, looking for some clue as to what it may do. All he could see was a bunch of wires sticking out of a metal cylinder that had a sensor attatched to one end, and a button in the middle.

"Okay, I give in. What does it do?" he asked, looking down at his ten year old sister, who was standing in front of him with a mischievous grin plastered all over her face.

"It beeps," she answered innocently. Nyx exchanged a look with his father. "You press the button, and then when someone walks past, it beeps. Moving faster makes it beep louder." Motion sensors were a recent discovery for Artemis, and evidently she had put that discovery to use.

Artemis had come from school early, saying that the riddles they had been doing in class had given her a headache. That hadn't stopped her disappearing into the labs once she had been brought to the office. Most kids played with dolls, Artemis played with soldering irons. She was far happier in the lab than she would have been sitting in Nyx or Sebastian's office for the rest of the day, and she refused to be at home alone (even if 'alone' was really 'surrounded by house staff and guards'). In the labs she was occupied, and there were plenty of staff about to keep an eye on her.

When she had come running into Nyx's office clutching her new device (closely followed by a very apologetic man in a lab coat), he had allowed her to drag him up to their father's office, laughing as she babbled excitedly about what she had been doing in the lab. Sebastian had been in a meeting, which had come to a rapid conclusion when he was informed that his daughter and eldest son were waiting in his office. Much to his amusement, he had entered his office to find Nyx holding Artemis away from the computer, trying to explain why she wasn't allowed to test the new "computer skills" the I.T. department had shown her, while she squirmed trying to get free.

Once Sebastian had rescued Nyx, and told Artemis that she was never to mess with his computer, he had asked what he could do for them, whereupon Artemis had declared that she was bored in the lab and wanted to play. A highly unusual request for Artemis, but they should have known that Artemis' idea of play would be different to that of any other child. Sure enough, when asked what she wanted to pay, she had dunked the odd device on the desk, and beamed at them, as though that answered the question.

"So who do you want to play with?" Nyx asked, still turning the device over in his hand.

"Rick!"

"Rick's at school Arty," Sebastian said gently, "He can't play." Nor did Sebastian want him playing with his daughter. Nyx didn't looked too thrilled at the idea either.

"Uh-uh!" said Artemis, shaking her head, "He's at camp, so he can play." Sebastian sighed, unsurprised that she had a solution to the problem - she always had a solution.

"Okay, what do you want to do then?" asked Nyx in a resigned voice. Artemis' grin stretched wider, and now bordered on evil.

"Hide them, and see how long it takes for him to find them," she said with a delighted giggle.

Sebastian and Nyx exchanged another look. Maybe this game wouldn't be so bad after all.

(This obviously takes place years before the story - 8 to be precise.)

3. Rick is pissed. How do they take their rage out on Tony? (Why are they pissed? Is Tony likely to survive?)

"It's not fair!" whined Rick before pouring himself another shot.

"Of course it's fair. Just because you haven't been given your dream job as soon as you finished your training doesn't mean the world is against you," Tony said in exasperation. How the hell had the kid found him? And why was the kid complaining to him of all people?

"But I'm good! I know I am. They just won't give me a chance." Tony bit back a growl of frustration, and resisted the urge to smack his head on the table.

"Listen kid, if you want sympathy, you've got the wrong person. For a start, it's my job your after, so why the hell would I feel sorry for you not being handed it? Second of all, I'd been in the business a hell of a lot longer than you before I was offered the job, and I've been at it for years, yet I'm still afraid I'll lose my job anytime I make the slightest error. and you want to know the real killer? Artemis wants me around, but she doesn't want you around twenty-four/seven." Maybe be he was being a bit harsh, but it was the only night off he'd had in weeks, and he wanted to enjoy it, not listen to some kid whine about how it was unfair that they couldn't have his job.

A utter of "not fair", and then blessed silence followed his speech. Turning away from the kid, Tony continued the conversation he had been having with barkeeper before the kid had arrived. By the end of his third drink, he realised the silence had stretched on to long. He looked back, and saw the kid face-down on the bar, out cold. Sighing, he got up, stretched, then hefted the kid over his shoulder. It may be his night off, but Artemis would still be pissed off if he left her friend unconscious in a bar.

4. Tony attempts to win the affection of Elaine. How does Elaine react?

"I'd be perfectly happy to take you Mr. Deus. Hell, I'll even arrange a private one on one meeting with him." Even as he said it, Tony hoped that Mr. Deus wasn't listening, or that if he was, he'd understand that Tony was not serious.

"He wouldn't meet me. Not while that bitch is still alive and keeping him away." Elaine scowled at Tony, who did his best to keep his emotions off his face. 'That bitch' was the person he was paid to protect, and one of the few protectees that he'd ever had that he actually liked. Still, he had to maintain his friendly appearance, and try to steer this insane woman off the let's-kill-Artemis road.

"Artemis isn't keep Mr. Deus away. This has nothing to do with her. In fact, of you lay off Artemis, Mr. Deus would probably be more willing to see you." Too late, he realised his error in mentioning Artemis at all. Elaine gave a wordless shriek of fury.

Then all hell broke loose.

5. The gang stumbles upon a rogue Sue whilst wandering about the DA universe. Who steps up to eliminate the menace.

"Hmm...am I right in thinking that a 'Sue' is a character that is perfect in everything they do? That never fails to achieve their goals, and often achieves them with ease?" Sebastian asked the others, eyebrows raised.

"Um, usually, yeah," Rick answered. He was the only one, besides Sebatian, who wasn't either to kill Artemis, or prevent her from being killed. He just watched on in confusion.

"Then why on earth would I want to kill them? It makes far more sense to hire them."

(No, I do not like seeing Sues in stories, and I do my best to avoid the myself, but you can't deny that if they existed, they'd make fantastic employees, if you could the to work for you).

6. Nyx and Artemis are pissed of at my excessive use of parenthesis. How to they try to deal with the problem? (Do they angrily shout through the forth wall? Do they break into reality and-OH GOD!  STOP PUNCHING ME!)

"What did you call it?" Nyx asked, staring into the case Artemis had just opened.

"A multi-dimension neuro-toxin dispersal unit dispersal unit."

"I see," lied Nyx. Artemis rolled her eyes.

"It's a really big gun that fires Stingers into other dimensions. Now be careful where you point it - I can't remember if I loaded the lethal or non-lethal Stingers."

7.Now that Nyx and Artemis are finished with their job (HA! I live.) They have a drink in a dive bar where Rick and Hermes are bartending.

"You missed! How the hell did you miss?" Artemis half-shouted incredulously as they strolled into the bar.

"It's not my fault! I blame the gun."

"There was nothing wrong with the gun," growled Artemis as they sat down. NYC grinned and stayed quiet, waiting for the inevitable; "Well, nothing that would have affected your aim that much anyway." Nyx chuckled. Even when Artemis defended her work, she couldn't help admitting to it's flaws, often flaws only she could see.

They both turned their attention to the bar. They looked back at each other, sharing a "are you seeing what I'm seeing?" look. They looked back at the bar.

"Hermes, what the hell are you doing here?" demanded Nyx, staring incredulously at his little brother.

"Working," snapped Hermes, "so either order drinks or get out."

"G and T for me." Nyx couldn't tear his eyes away from Hermes.

"I'll have the third cider from the left, second row, from that fridge there," said Artemis, pointing, her eyes narrowed in suspicion. "Leave the top on - i'll open it myself. So does dad know you work here?"

"Feeling suspicious are we?" mocked Hermes. "And obviously dad doesn't know I'm here. Not that he'd care if he did." He slammed the bottle down on the bar, in front of Artemis. "Yours is coming," Hermes spat at Nyx, before wheeling and stalking away to the opposite end of the bar.

"Hey, Nyx, Whiskers! Fancy meeting you here!" said a cheery voice to their right. The two of them looked over, then Artemis dropped her head into her arms. "Oh come on, you have to at least be a little bit nicer to me," Rick continued. Artemis groaned. It was going to be a long night.

8. Elaine comes into contact with a strange artifact shaped like a chickens egg and encrusted with gemstones. What does it do? What do they use it for?

"It's beautiful!" gasped Elaine, wrapping Nyx in a hug. The gift was highly unexpected; while Nyx was polite when he had to come into contact with Elaine, he usually tried to avoid any unnecessary contact. However, it was Elaine's birthday, and his his father wasn't around, so Nyx felt that it was up to him to present Elaine with her gift.

"Each gem can be pressed, and they all do so,etching different," said Nyx with a polite smile as extracted himself from the hug. He pushed a large blue gem to demonstrate, and a hiden light emitted a soft blue glow.

"Amazing! It is so like Sebastian to make something both beautiful and practical," Elaine gushed, turning the egg over in her hand.

"Yes, it is one of Artemis' better pieces. These last few years, she's got much better at making gifts for you." Nyx gave Elaine one last flash of his polite smile, and then turned and walked away, leaving her gaping.

9.Alright, time for some fun. Sebastian wakes up in a paralell diminsion in which they are married to Hermes with three children. (If same sex, SURPRISE! Hermes is now genderbent, thanks to the  power of the internet.)

Sebastian woke up with a groan. He had no idea what had happened last night. The last thing he remembered was having a conversation with Artemis about the Pheonix Project, then driving home for the night. Now he had a pounding headache, and had woken in an unfamiliar room with a warm body pressed against his back.

"Daddy, daddy! Up now. Up and swimming now daddy!" demanded a young child. "UP daddy!" The voice was now accompanied by someone tugging on the covers of his bed.

"What's all the noise about?" groaned the person behind him. Sebastian froze. The voice was more feminine than usual, but he would recognise it anywhere. What the hell was he doing in bed with his son?

10. Artemis is discovered to be a vampire. (If already a vampire, werewolf, mummy, etc. They are now a sentient golem made of fish.)

"I still don't get it. How can you be a vampire? I've seen you in the sun. You don't even like meat that isn't on the burnt side, so how could you drink blood? Not to mention the fact that you love garlic. So how-" Rick's torrent of questions was cut off by glares from the other three men in the room.

"I would have thought it is blatantly obvious that we do not know how, when or why Artemis became a vampire," growled Nyx, "but all your bloody questions aren't helping matters. If you don't have anything useful to say, piss off." He turned back to Artemis, who was sitting at a desk rubbing her temples, and placed hand on her shoulder. "Try not to think about it too much Arty. Think about something else."

"What was that you said about only saying something useful?" retorted Artemis. "Do really think I'm deliberately focusing on the unsolvable issue that driving me crazy and making my head pound?"

After several minutes of silence, Tony spoke up "Um, I have a theory, but please don't shout at me if it's stupid." He hesitated for a second, until Sebatian glanced at him, raising an eyebrow. "Well, I think the answer is simply that modern media is wrong about vampires, and that what we think we know about them is all utter crap, so we should stop trying to fit Artemis' symptoms to match the myths."

Another silence followed this statement. Just as Tony Opened his mouth to tell everyone is was a stupid theory and that they should ignore it, Artemis looked up. "Okay, that kind of makes sense. Now what we need to know is what are vampires really like?"

11. Sebastian dies. Tragic. How did it happen? Does anyone care? (Don't worry, the meme requires them. Even meme related deaths cannot put the stalwart Sebastian down for good.)

Nyx stared down at his fahter's body in disbelief. His brain refused to process the sight of the bullet wound and his father's cold, dead body lying on the floor in front of him. He felt like he was trapped in a bubble; he was vaguely aware of people darting about around him, of agitated voices alternating between barking orders and asking questions, but none of it penetrated his bubble.

He was snapped back to reality when somebody jostled his elbow in an attempt to get his attention. He turned to them as they repeated whatever it was they had said before, but Nyx still wasn't listening. He shook his head and blinked as he looked at the man before him. "I need to phone my sister," he murmured, pushing the man out of the way, and pulling out his phone.

12. Elaine is fused with a badger. What has science done.

"Artemis!"

Artemis, who was sitting hunched over a workbench covered in bits of wire and circuit boards, winced as she heard the shout. She recognised that voice. That was the voice that told her she, or her experiments, had crossed the line again.

In no hurry to find out exactly how much trouble she was in, Artemis deactivated the lab door security system, and remained where she was, wondering what she done this time. She hadn't pranked anyone recently, and she had cleaned up all the fishtank rooms she had created (well, except that one in Rick's closet, but she wouldn't be in trouble for that; Nyx and her father found it almost as funny as she did).

The door flew opened so fast it bounced off the wall. "Artemis! What the hell is this, and why are there a herd of them running around upstairs?" demanded Sebastian as he entered the room. Artemis glanced at thing he was holding in his left hand, then did a doubletake and stared.

She burst out laughing.

"I fail to see how this is funny," her father scowled, striding forward to dump the oddly shaped creature onto the bench in front of her. At first glance, the creature looked like a badger, with it's stocky build and black and white markings, but upon closer examination, the face was flatter, the teeth blunter, and the eyes were clearly human.

The more Artemis looked, the more obvious it became that the creature before her was Elaine. If the visual evidence hadn't been enough, the grunts and snarls as it twisted in an attempt to bite Artemis confirmed that this odd hybrid was indeed Elaine, or at least a badger copy of her.

"S-Sorry," spluttered Artemis, clutching her side where a stitch was developing. By tilting her her head back to look at the ceiling, and taking some deep breaths, she finally calmed down enough to speak. "As unbelievable as it sounds, it wasn't me." A pause. "Well, it wasn't my fault." Another pause. "It wasn't entirely me fault." Yet another pause. "It was mostly her fault."

"Her fault," repeated Sebastian.

"Well, it is. She's the one who wandered into the big metal box and pressed the big red button marked go. Who the hell is stupid enough to do that." Artemis frowned. "Plus, she must have been in the restricted section of the labs, where all the abandoned prototypes are dumped, so she's lucky she isn't dead. So yeah, while I admit I made the machine, it isn't my fault that she wandered into a restricted section and had an accident, but it is hers."

"What exactly is the machine that did this?" Sebastian asked with a sigh.

"I never named it. It's designed to combine the DNA of two or more organisms. I got the idea when in one of my college biology classes, when we studied bacteria, and wanted to see if it would work. It took a while, but eventually I managed to make it work. Only problem is, when I tested it, it caused weird side effects, and it never got as far as human testing - by that time I'd had the biosuits idea."

"So what do we do with these then?" asked Sebastian, waving a hand at the badger hybrid before him.

"Round them up? Then I dunno, confine them, hand them out as pets, give them to the bio-lab guys to play with. I don't really care. You may want to find the stupid bitch and get her out of the machine first though. She clearly hasn't realised that punching that big red button isn't releasing her, so she'll just keep churning out more until you release her."

"So where exactly will I find her?"

"In the Wreck Room. Beyond that, don't know and don't care. Just make sure that she an't get back in once she's out would you? If she gets killed in there, you're bound to blame me." Artemis reached out and dumped the hybrid onto the floor, and returned to her work, leaving Sebastian to deal with the Elaine-badger infestation.

13. Sebastian and Rick face down a rampaging Doom Walrus. How do they go about killing the beast? (Be creative as well as descriptive. Your Doom Walrus will be different from others. Does it have magical powers? Is it gigantic? Does it wield a mighty bukkit?)

Sebastian looked up from his paperwork once again, as he heard another thud. The sounds had started about ten minutes ago, and had been getting louder and more frequent. Just as he was about to get up and investigate, Rick burst into the office.

"The bio-lab has had an accident, and something's escaped!" he gasped and he slammed the door behind him.

"GROOOOOOH"

Rick yelped at the sudden noise. Sebastian, as calm as ever, said "Never barge into my office again. Now, do we know what has escaped? Or what is being done to restrain it?"

"No sir. It's on this floor though, so we should probably leave."

Tilting his head, Sebastian tried to judge which direction the sound was coming from, and what direction it was heading in. With a sigh he stood up, having concluded that the noise was heading in the direction of his office, and that for once Rick was right; they really should leave. Wordlessly, he gestured towards the door, making it clear that escapee mutant or not, Rick was still expected to earn his salary and do his job.

As they exited the office, there was another bone-jarring thud, and the creature rounded the corner, finally coming into sight. Spotting the two man standing in the middle of the corridor, the creature bellowed again, displaying a fearsome set of ivory tusks that stood it in stark contrast to it's dark skin and red eyes, and charged. Each ungainly, but surprisingly fast, dive forward caused another ground shaking thud as the beast's flippers hit the floor. The beast was surprisingly intimidating, for a foot high walrus.

"Shooting it any time now would be good, Richard," Sebastian said calmly, as though having a three hundred pound, one foot high doom walrus charge at him with murder in it's eyes was something that happened every day. In fact, since Artemis had decided to try her hand at genetic manipulation, incidents like this were becoming far too common place. As Sebastian made a mental note to update the bio-lab security measures, Rick finally came to his senses, scrambling for his gun and emptying a round into the knee-high beast.

14. Tony wakes up in bed with Hermes' arm slung over them in a dusty hotel room. Tony's head hurts like a bitch and can't recall why this hangover is so bad. (Had to do it. Does Hermes wake up? How does Tony cope with this situation?)

Waking up with a warm body pressed against his back was a rare occurrence for Tony. Being a full time bodyguard really cut into any time he had for himself, and maintaining professionalism meant that personal relationships were impossible; you couldn't effectively guard your charge if you spent half your time worrying that your loved ones were going to be in danger.

Trying to concentrate through the major headache he was expending, Tony attempted to recall the previous nights events. He could remember Artemis saying she'd be in the lab all night, and telling him he could have the night off. He could remember going to the bar all Deus employees used. He could remember his first couple of drinks. After that...nothing. Just a big blank space filling the gap between his last memory and the present moment.

Rolling of bed with a wince, he stumbled into the bathroom and rested his head against the mirror. His reflection stared back at him, and it looked like hell. He grimaced, reaching for two painkillers before remembering that he hadn't planned on being out overnight, so not only did he not have painkillers, he didn't have a change of clothes or even a toothbrush. He shook his head, trying to clear away the fog that hid his memories of last night. When that didn't work, he stuck his head under the cold tap.

It didn't help his headache, or his recollection, but it did wake him up, and with the alertness came a startling realisation. Not only was he late for work - something that hadn't happened in so long, he honestly couldn't remember the last time it had happened - he was going to turn up at work unarmed, wearing yesterday's clothes, which had clearly been slept in. Going home and changing before work was not an option. His job was his life. Literally. The only two places he had that he could call home were his room at Artemis' house, which he used most nights, and the room that he shared with three other people, back at Headquarters, which he used on his rare nights off. There was no way he was going to be able to explain this to Mr Deus. Maybe he wouldn't get fired outright, just demoted to some bottom of the barrel, dead end job.

The rustle of sheets from the other room snapped him out of his bleak thoughts. If he didn't get his arse in gear and show up at work soon, he would be lucky to keep his job at all. Using the limited resources he had, he did his best to make himself presentable, before heading out to get rid of the person who still lay in his bed.

He couldn't remember picking up a girl last night. Not that he could remember much else either, but picking up a stranger and taking her to a hotel he didn't know was not Tony's style at all. On those rare nights that he did go home with a girl, the trip was always to her home, and it was even rarer that he stayed the night. Getting rid of this girl was going to be awkward; he didn't know anything about her, or even who had invited who back to the hotel.

As he returned the bedroom, he glanced at the bed, half hoping the girl was still asleep, and that he could sneak out undetected. No such luck. At the sound of his footsteps, the girl rolled over to look at him sleepily. Tony froze. The 'girl' wasn't a girl at all, but a young man. A young man that Tony knew very well.

He smacked his head against the wall. The man in his bed was none other than Hermes Deus, his boss's son.

Forget keeping his job. Tony was going to be lucky if he kept his life.

15. Sebastian and Elaine sing kareoke. How does it go?

"Please, for the love of god, make it stop!" Nyx howled dramatically, clapping a hand over his ear. He would have covered both ears, but his other hand was occupied, so he had to preform his dramatics one-handed. Everyone else just watched on in fascinated horror.

Sebastian and Elaine were up on stage, each crooning into a microphone. Individually they were both horrendous singers. Together, it was like having a choirfull of yowling cats. Yet nobody quite dared to go up and ask them to stop, not with Sebastian's current intoxication, and Elaime's generally psychotic mentality. The only two people in the audience who may have told them just how bad they were, we're currently filming the entire thing, planning to store the resulting tapes away for future blackmail material.

Making sure her camera was still recording the drunk couple on-stage, Artemis leaned into Nyx with an over-exaggerated wince, "Maybe next New Years, we shouldn't spike the punch."

16. Ninjas of the Clee-Shay clan surround Artemis. What does she do?

Artemis slowly turned in a circle, taking in the sight that surrounded her. 'Clee-Shay' was right. These guys had definitely borrowed Hollywood's 'How to be a Perfect Ninja" guide. She wouldn't have been surprised if, had she tried to throw a punch at one of them, they had asked her to hold on why they got their stunt double.

"Why does this crap always happen to me?" she muttered to herself, before raising her voice and shouting, "Tony! We have another problem. You're really not going to believe this one..."

17. The group is at an artistc class. Elaine has volunteered to be a nude model. Is this accepted? Or is the group revolted? Who has the strongest reaction?

Elaine stood in the centre of a ring of easels, wearing nothing but a long white robe. The rest of the group stood around, looking confused. Sebastian had decided that art classes would be a good pass time for them all, and had insisted that they come along. What he hadn't been expecting was that Elaine would be the model.

The slightly nervous smile that Elaine had had when she first came into the room soon disappeared, as she realised who she would be modelling for. At least Sebastian is here she thought to herself, and she focused on his face as she dropped her robe. Sebastian's lack of reaction at suddenly seeing her naked disappointed her. Without so much as blinking, he picked up a pencil, and started sketching.

The reactions from the rest of the group were less composed. Hermes made a funny choking noise, his eyes bulging slightly as he stared at his naked mother, before he whirled around and left the room, fast.

"My eyes!" cried Artemis, throwing up her arms to block the view, as Nyx shouted "Eye bleach! I need eye bleach!", while covering his own eyes.

In the corner of the room, a bewildered Rick and Tony exchanged glances, unsure what to do. Eventually, they decided to take Sebastian's lead, picking up their pencils and beginning to sketch, wondering how on earth they had managed to get themselves involved.

18. Rick has a chance to go back and alter a past event. What do they do? How has their life changed as a result?

Cautiously, Rick stepped out of the time machine. This was definitely not something his training had covered, but when he had been offered the chance to go back and alter a past event, he couldn't pass it up. So here he was, once again standing in the corridor outside Sebastian's office, halfway through his bodyguard training, trying to muster the courage to knock, and ask for the job he wanted. Or rather, his younger self was; his older self was unable to directly interfere with events, and could only talk to his younger self.

He used the moment of hesitation from his younger self to approach him. Urgently gesturing for his younger self to be quiet, he hurriedly explained who he was, and what was happening, before quickly offering the advice he was sure would help his younger self get the position of bodyguard to Artemis. His younger self nodded seriously as he gave the advice. Once he was done, the older Rick nodded to his younger self and wished him luck.

As he headed back to the time machine, to return it to it's proper time and owner, a sudden thought struck him. This whole situation seemed familiar, as though he had seen it before, but from a digest angle. Then he remembered the cardinal rule of time travel; anything that happened in the past, has already happened ad cannot be changed, therefore if you go back in time in the future, then you have already affected the past, and so the future will not change.

Rick had already given himself the advice for getting his dream job, and he knew for certain, his younger self would stand in Sebastian's office, and dismiss all the advice he had been given, and proceed to fail to get the job, no matter how many times Rick returned.

19. Nyx shrinks down to be rat sized. Sebastian spots them. What happens?

This, Nyx swore, was the last straw. That techie had better use his head-start damn well, because when Nyx finally got out of this mess, heads were going to roll. Pranks were fine, but there was a time and a place for them, and now really was not the time; he had meetings to go to, and things to do. Being less than one foot high, and stranded on his desk was not a position he wanted to be in, especially now.

The phone on his desk began to ring again. Nyx glared at it. How was he supposed to answer the phone, when it was as big as him? And if things weren't already bad enough, it was his father who was trying to ring him, and this was his fith attempt.

Ignoring the phone, Nyx wandered to the edge of the desk, peering down to the floor that suddenly seemed miles away, considering the distance. If he jumped from here, it would be like leaping out of a second story window. Probaly not fatal, but there was a very real possibility of broken limbs. With a sigh he sat on the edge of the desk. Under normal circumstances, he may have been willing to risk it, but right now he wanted to stay all in one piece until he was returned to normal size. If he was returned to normal size.

He nearly fell off the desk when the door suddenly slammed open, and his father stormed into the room, yelling, "Nyx! I don't have time for your stupid games! You will answer the phone when I ri-" He broke off, mid rant, staring at his miniaturised son. He blinked, and before Nyx could say anything, he whirled around and stormed out the room, slamming the door shut behind him. As his footsteps retreated, Nyx could hear him yelling for Artemis.

Sebastian was fuming. His usual near infinite patience with his children had finally worn thin. He needed all hands on deck for the next few business deals to go smoothly, and didn't have time for his offsprings' dicking about. He had made it abundantly clear that he expected complete professionalism from them for the next few days, yet he had had to deal with everything from badgers that had somehow been hybridised with his ex, to escapee test subjects, and now his eldest son had somehow ended up miniaturised, unable to even get off his desk, let alone attend meetings or organise a recon team.

"Artemis!" he shouted as marched into the lab room. Everyone in the room froze, staring at him like rabbits caught in the headlights. "Where is she?" he snapped after glancing around the room, and noticing the absence of his daughter.

"In her private lab, sir," stammered one of the men nearest to him, while another leapt out of his chair, and shot off in the direction of Artemis' lab. The man who had been speaking swallowed as Sebastian turned to him. "She's been touchy all day, complaining about being under house arrest until the new project is completed. The only time she left today was at eleven this morning, to get the info we needed. She's really not going to be happy about being disturbed..." he babbled, desperately trying to fill the empty silence that had settled over the room. Artemis' entry to the room saved him from further embarrassment.

"What?! What can you possibly want now? Do you ever want this bloody equipment finishing? Cos at this rate, it isn't going to be done by Christmas, never mind the end of the week!" She was ranting before she had even fully entered the room, and didn't pause for breath until she was almost nose-to-nose with her father. "This had better be damned important, or I'm locking my lab door, and shooting the next person who disturbs me. I plan to sleep at some point this week you know!"

"What did you do to Nyx?" Sebastian asked, when she finally paused long enough for him to get a word in.

"I haven't even seen Nyx all day. Whatever he's done has nothing to do with me. In case I hadn't made it clear, I've been in the lab all day," she retorted, before turning around and heading back towards the door she had come through, saying over her shoulder, "and if you want to continue this conversation, you'll have to join me in said lab."

Following her, Sebastian told her what had happened to Nyx. She looked thoughtful as she pulled on a pair of safety goggles. "I have no idea. Maybe some sort of shrinking device? I tried making one once, but it didn't work, so I scrapped it and the blueprints ended up in the never-to-be-seen-again drawer."

"If that is what it is, how do you undo the effects?" Sebastian asked with a frown. Something would really have to be done about the security of Artemis' abandoned inventions. Artemis shrugged.

"If someone is working from my blueprints, the effects will wear off in less than twelve hours. If they made it themselves, or tweaked my version, then I don't know how to undo it. If it hasn't resolved itself in the next twenty-four hours, I'll see what I can do to undo it, but right now I need to finish this," she said, waving a hand at the tangle of wires and tools in front of her.

"So how is he supposed to function for the next few hours? He can't even get off his desk."

"Get someone to carry him to where he needs to go. He won't like it, but I don't care. If you're expecting me to whip out a mirical cure, you can think again; I'm already trying to do the impossible, with this Friday as the deadline. I don't have time to run around trying to drag Nyx out of the mess he got himself into. Now unless you have something really important to share, shoo. I wasn't kidding about that sleep thing."

Sebastian shook his head slowly. Nyx really wasn't going to like this, but Artemis was right. At the moment, there really was no other option.

Lol, this is by far the most elaborate I have seen.

A meme first, Hiring the Sue...

Sounds like a wonderful family of mad-scientists.

I use memes to flesh out my character in my own mind, so the more elaborate, the better ;) this one was really fun to do, and got rid of my writer's block!

Sebastian is nothing if not practical:XD: hiring a Sue is exactly the sort of thing he would do - good for business and generally being successful:XD:
